I’m so glad we went to see wild Up at the Pasadena Armory! Even though I’d never gone to see experimental music performed before, it was super enjoyable. It was such a lively and playful performance. The way the ensemble works is that they usually pick a theme—this time it was ornithology, the study of birds—so they played pieces by Andrew Bird, Charlie Parker, pieces featuring field recordings of birds, and a bunch more. What a nicely curated treat. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing them in March at Beyond Baroque!
